Description:

The Accountant I will ensure accurate invoice processing and approval as requested. Maintain fixed asset schedules and assist in the internal auditing of accounting and administrative functions. Assist in the preparation of cash flow statements, general ledgers, reconciliations, etc. as requested. Under supervision, performs certain treasury functions and assists with state and federal tax compliance as requested. This role may supervise small clerical staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounting Responsibilities: Performs monthly account reconciliations, facilitates monthly check runs, monitors daily bank balances and monthly sales and use tax as requested. This role facilitates annual 1099's and assists with annual audits as requested. This role performs month end close and post close procedures, assists in financial statement and monthly management report preparation. This role maintains financial security by adhering to internal controls.
  • Administration: Leads process improvement in the accounting department to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Protects confidential and personally identifiable information of clients, and employees.
  • Performance Management: Works with team members to establish clear goals and expectations, provides ongoing feedback, develops skills and knowledge of team members, and rewards people for their behavior and results.
Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting

Certifications and/or Licenses: N/A


Relevant Experience & Training:

  • A minimum of 3 years' work experience in the finance and accounting industry.
  • Previous accounts receivable and/or accounts payable experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with JD Edwards software preferred.
