Overview of this Position:

The Accounting Associate works directly with the accounting department staff to prepare and maintain accounting and financial schedules timely and accurately.

Non-Negotiable Requirements:

• Undergraduate Degree in Business related field (Accounting preferred).
• Ability to complete tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
• Proficient computer skills in General Ledger systems (QuickBooks or QAD preferred), Word, and Outlook.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Preferred Requirements:

• 1-4 years prior work experience in an accounting role.

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

• Assist with preparing journal entry support, daily cash reporting and bank reconciliations, and month-end schedules (accrual basis).
• Assist in the preparation of internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system (QuickBooks and/or QAD) and from other departments.
• Analyze information and options by developing spreadsheet reports.
• Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
• Roll month end documents in organized and consistent fashion.
• Filing and other administrative support for the department.
• Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.
• Support year-end accounting audits (and any other financial audit requests throughout the year).
