ACCOUNTING ASSOCIATE
THE POSITION
The Construction Accounting Associate position is a rare opportunity for a detail oriented, experienced accounting clerk to be a part of a High-End Residential Design-Build Firm. Reporting to the President, the Construction Accountant plays a critical role in the Finance Department. The Accounting Associate is responsible for recording all AP/AR, preforming monthly bank account reconciliation, preparing reoccurring monthly billings, and assisting with processing payroll and HR benefits management.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Audit and input all accounts payable invoices and prepare checks
· Audit and post receivables in QuickBooks
· Draft recurring monthly client billings
· Reconcile and balance bank accounts monthly
· Generate monthly financial reports
· Assist with bi-monthly payroll preparation
· Generate invoices for inter-company reimbursable expenses
· Assist with end of year tax preparation – year end bank account reconciliation, prepare 1099s and W2s
· Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
· Respond to employee questions regarding expense coding and other accounting issues
· Provide clerical or administrative support to management as needed
· Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive financial files
· Communicate in a professional and friendly manner with vendors and financial institutions
· Make recommendations for creating efficiencies in the accounting and other processes
REQUIREMENTS
· Minimum 1 -3 years of bookkeeping experience including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or similar
· Mastery of QuickBooks Desktop
· Expert knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
· Knowledge of regulatory requirements for processing regular payroll transactions and quarterly payroll returns
· Exceptional organizational skills
· Excellent communication skills – written and oral
· Proficient with Windows operating system
· Proficient with Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint
