We are seeking a candidate for our Accounting Clerk position. The accounting clerk will be responsible for ensuring that all company and subsidiary company taxes are filed in a timely manner, cash management activities working with the Controller and Treasurer, and will provide accounting support to the Accounting Manager. This job is primarily an onsite position at our corporate office in Hampden, ME, and has schedule flexibility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Reconciles assigned general ledger accounts on a monthly basis, which may include:

Cash Accounts

Inventory

Liabilities

Credit Card receipts

AR

AP

Performing assigned duties for EOM close

Accrual entries as needed

Allocation entries as needed

Reviewing certain expense accounts or margins

Running necessary period close processes

Other closing entries as needed

May assist Accounts Payable and/or Sales Audit as needed.

Backup for essential duties in Accounting Department including research and reporting needs for management or other departments, cash handling activities, and other reconciliations on request.

Will have involvement in preparing annual schedule requests for external auditors

Completes required government or internal reporting.

Ensuring internal controls are appropriate and adhered to.

Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
One year certificate from college or technical school, six to twelve months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
