JOB DESCRIPTION
The Accounting Manager will be responsible to supervise, hire, motivate all accounting staff. Working under the direction of the Director of Finance, the Accounting Manger directs and coordinates the daily activities of the accounting staff to accurately record all general ledger accounts. The incumbent will assist in the development and maintenance of financial reporting systems to insure integrity of finances based on sound accounting procedures and controls. The position is eligible to succeed the Finance Director. A CPA license is required for succession.

COMPENSATION
$83,678 - $108,971 annually. Exempt; not eligible for overtime. Compensation based on education and experience.
REPORTS TO
Director of Finance.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors in Accounting or Finance or related field is required, (CPA or candidate is preferred), with at least 3 years’ experience in GL analysis, audit schedule preparation, budgeting and account reconciliation, and preparation of financial statements. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required and familiarity with other Office programs is preferred. Good oral and written English; good communication skills.
Drivers license for at least two years and driving record acceptable to insurance carrier.
Valid California driver's license; auto in safe operating condition; auto liability insurance; good driving record; criminal record clearance; proof of authorization to work in the United States as required by Immigration and Reform Act of 1986.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Hire, supervise, evaluate, motivate and develop all accounting staff.
2. Make daily deposit and oversee cash flow to make sure funds are available in the cash account as needed.
3. Review all general ledger accounts monthly to make sure that all entries are recorded accurately and according to GAAP.
4. Keep the Director of Finance informed of any non-compliance of GAAP.
5. Under direct supervision of the Director of Finance, prepare the agency budgets.
6. Supervise preparation of budget to actual reports for management monthly and when requested.
7. Provide professional financial advice to management.
8. Interpret and implement financial management policies and operating practices.
9. Assist in the development and maintenance of financial reporting systems to insure integrity of finances based on sound accounting procedures and controls.
10. Ensure all bank accounts are reconciled monthly.
11. Under the direct supervision of Director of Finance, prepare agency financial statements annually and when requested.
12. Supervise preparation of all schedules necessary for the annual audit.
13. Supervise reconciliation of rent income from Rental Package to General Leger.
14. Supervise reconciliation of Inter Company Accounts.
15. Supervise financial statements data entry into HUD REAC system.
16. Act as the Director of Finance during his absence.
17. Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to: operate a motor vehicle; climb stairs; read data on a computer screen; read documents being word-processed, etc.; answer phones and communicate with staff, residents and agency visitors; meet the requirements of the classification and have mobility, vision, hearing and dexterity levels appropriate to the duties to be performed. Capable of the following extended activities: standing, sitting, climbing stairs. Capable of the following intermittent activities: lifting up to 25 pounds or more and bending in the performance of infrequently performed office duties.
