Summary/Objective: The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for monitoring and reviewing all financial transactions and processes to ensure compliance with financial policy and procedures, internal controls and regulatory standards with maximizing process efficiencies.

Essential Functions: Specific duties include, but are not limited, to the following:

· Maintains the general ledger and ensures the accuracy of all accounts

· Reconciles all asset and liability accounts on a monthly basis

· Prepares monthly financial statements for internal and external departments

· Oversees and reviews accounts payable, payroll and daily sales reconciliations performed by the accounting assistants

· Develops procedures and training for accounting staff

· Ensures work is done accurately and timely

· Responsible for all tax payments and reporting requirements

· Completes daily and monthly journal entries

· Reconciles monthly bank statements

· Assists in the annual audit coordination

· Provides staff supervision, direction, oversight and training

· Maintains cost allocations for salaries, payroll taxes, worker’s compensation, health insurance, and other costs as necessary

· Ensures all expenses are recorded to the correct business units

· Maintains the fixed asset registers

· Complies and maintains all policy and procedures for the accounting department in coordination with the Human Resources Department

Supervisory Responsibility: This position has direct supervisory responsibility for the accounting assistants.

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office

equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee

to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is

regularly required to talk and hear. This is a largely sedentary role; however standing, sitting, walking, bending, and

being able to lift 50 pounds safely is required.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are primarily Monday through Friday, 8:00a to 4:30p. However, evening and weekend hours are required as job duties demand.

Travel: Little to no travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience: Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field, 4+ years of experience and/or training considered in lieu of education requirements with supervisory experience. Must possess excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills. Experience with financial reporting, expense analysis, cost benefit analysis, and financial statement interpretation required.

Preferred Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field with 2+ years with supervisory experience.
