JOB SUMMARY:
Primary responsibilities relate to accounts payable. This will include weekly check runs and month end expense reviews to assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements. The ideal candidate will have a positive, professional demeanor and have the flexibility to adapt quickly during periods of change.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Daily review, distribution and entry of new invoices.
  • Weekly check runs.
  • Vendor Maintenance.
  • Weekly filing of all vendor activity.
  • Security of company charge cards.
  • Reconciliation of vendor statements and all appropriate follow-up.
  • Month end reconciliation of A/P module to G/L.
  • Complete bank reconciliations as assigned.
  • Month end journal entries as needed.
  • Monthly expense review and variance analysis.
  • Primary expense tracking for budget preparation.
  • Assist with inventory tracking.
  • Annual 1099 balancing and printing.
  • Cross train for payment posting.
  • Adhere to established SOPs and assist in revising SOPs as required.
  • Other accounting research and summaries as deemed necessary.
  • Ability to effectively make independent decisions and resolve issues with no assistance.
  • Ability to exercise good and cautious judgment and effectively interface with all types of people diplomatically.
  • Strong time management including prioritizing and the ability to multitask.
  • Communicate through multiple mediums (verbal, phone, written, e-mail) with vendors and department heads.
  • Strong math aptitude.
  • Analytical review and problem solving.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Should have sufficient computer skills that will allow the individual to be able to use, in a proficient manner, certain Company-issued software programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Ability to create charts, graphs and basic formulas in Excel is required.
  • Typing skills are required, including a 10 key adding machine (by touch is preferred).
  • Strong proficiency in Excel: subtotals/basic formulas, sorting, data importing.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • College Degree is preferred, but not required.

Experience/Knowledge

  • Minimum 3-5 years of accounting related responsibilities. Prior accounts payable or purchasing experience preferred.
  • Experience in the hospitality industry is preferred, but not required.
  • General A/P Accounting software, Dynamics-SL preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.50 - $24.73 per hour
