Brief Job Description
The Administrative IT Director is a senior-level position within the SUNY Information Technology Exchange Center (ITEC). The Administrative IT Director works in a team with the CIO, CTO, Architectural Designer, and Supervising Analysts to provide support services to ITEC’s Members, University-wide Programs, and to the University in general. This position is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the Administrative Services teams internal to ITEC or through the Campus IT Services (CIS) service at a campus who is working through ITEC’s Campus IT Services offering. Responsibilities include: supervision and evaluation of the staff, managing staff resources, and managing and / or assigning projects and tasks, etc. This position works with the ITEC and/or Campus CIO and the CTO in long-term planning, analysis, and design of systems and services to meet the needs addressed by the ITEC Executive Board and the University. This position is also responsible for maintaining contact with Member institutions to ensure their needs are being addressed and problems are being resolved to their satisfaction.

Required Qualifications
1. Progressive management supervisory experience.
2. Significant experience with IT administrative policies and practices.
3. Demonstrated significant experience managing administrative higher education Information Technology teams.
4. Demonstrated significant experience with administering and / or supporting Oracle RDBMS.
5. Demonstrated significant experience supporting and administering Ellucian’s Banner Student Information System.
6. Good presentation, interpersonal, written, and communication skills.
7. Available to work various shifts to assist with providing 24 × 7 support.

Preferred Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems or related field.
2. Experience managing academic and functional higher education Information Technology teams.
3. Experience with implementation or administration of third party ERP products, including but not limited to Adirondack Housing and scheduling software, AppWorks, CashNet, Nelnet, Slate, Starfish, Unifyed,
4. Experience with data access and reporting techniques in a relational database environment using one of the following: Discoverer, PL/SQL, SQR, Argos, Cognos or OBIEE.
5. Experience in information technology strategic planning in a higher education environment.
6. Experience reading, interpreting and implementing information technology statements of work (SOW).
7. Experience with implementation or administration of ANGEL, Blackboard, or D2L Brightspace.
8. Experience with using digital learning environments such as Blackboard Learn, from an end-user perspective.
9. Strong networking experience.
10. Experience with IT security.
11. Experience effectively presenting information to IT professionals and campus leaders.
