Architectural Project Manager

Overview:
We are looking for experienced Architectural Project Managers who want to be a part of our dynamic team of professionals working toward bringing sustainable forestry solutions to commercial construction markets. If you have a strong background in architecture, construction and project management; exceptional communication/organization skills; and a temperament for innovation, you may be the perfect candidate to join our team.
Serving the diverse needs of a cutting-edge structural round timber manufacturing company, you will contribute to our success by utilizing your project management skills to successfully move projects from sales through design and into production . You will work closely with Customers, Lead Designers, VP of Operations, CEO, Sales, and
Production staff; supporting and guiding work with vendors, fabricators and clients to seamlessly deliver
WholeTrees products to commercial construction projects.
What you’ll need:
− 5+ years of architectural project management experience.
− Familiarity with creating and reading detailed shop drawings and models, preferably in a manufacturing, fabrication or construction environment.
− Ability to work independently and collaboratively as an integral team member within a dynamic design and fabrication environment.
Overarching activities:
− Primary point of contact for all project constituents.
− Manage projects from sale through final installation.
− Coordinate and maintain project schedules including design, production, and jobsite delivery.
− Communicate with customers, structural engineers, architects, contractors, production leadership to facilitate smooth project flow.
− Connect daily and weekly design/engineering activity and costs to project budgets.
− Oversee communication and activity between the Sales, Design and Production Departments.
− Manage customer expectations and creatively achieve goals of multiple constituents and simultaneous projects.
− Direct shop drawing activities including creating shop drawings and managing/reviewing outsourced partner's work.
Specific daily activities:
− Maintain project Systematic Checklists in the Design Work Flow.
− Organization and execution of project contract including managing required documentation, RFI's, material submittals, reviewing project specifications, and tracking A&E drawing review and approvals.
− Track schedules and costs to ensure project success.
− Travel to partner production facilities for Quality Control reviews.
− Communicate material needs and track procurement with vendors.
− Estimate and quote support for pipeline project takeoffs based on architectural plan sets and client needs.
− Manage Change Order systems with clients and vendors.
− Weekly team meetings, in-person and remote, where projects are addressed in systematic ways.
Required skills:
− Experience successfully leading teams with compassion, humor and accountability
− Strong organizational and multitasking skills with demonstrated success in multidisciplinary teams
− Self-motivated, self-directed with exceptional attention to detail
− A preference for fast-paced and diverse workdays where new information and changing circumstances are received with creativity, efficiency and patience
− Excellent oral and written communication skills
− Experience interfacing with fabrication and manufacturing
− Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
− Autodesk; Revit; Sketchup; Adobe Suite
− Capacity occassional travel: Sales & Engineering office located in Madison, WI. Manufacturing facility located in Westby, WI. Production partnerships located nationwide.
− Preferred: Experience with QuickBooks. Experience reading budgets. Experience with Rhino.
Compensation & Management:
Salary will be commensurate with experience. After the first 90 days of full-time employment, a full benefits package will be provided including paid holidays, accrued paid time off and a health benefit package. This position will work closely with the Project Management Dept, Design Dept, Sales Dept, VP of Operations and CEO.
