Sandridge Food Corporation is seeking to attract a creatively charged brand marketer. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of consumer brand experience from either the manufacturer or agency side and will have worked on challenger brands or brands that have upset the categories in which they have competed. This is a creative individual steeped in brand (primarily CPG) but with a curious outlook. The goal of the position is to build brand equity of the Sandridge Brand to the food industry as well as growing equity on consumer owned brands.

The Assistant Brand Manager’s primary responsibility supports identifying and accelerating all appropriate customer and consumer touch-points of the brand marketing mix. The position reports to the VP of Marketing.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the development and execution of annual marketing plans which address all aspects of the marketing mix including packaging, new product development and launch, renovation, recommended promotions, market research and customer marketing. Inherent in this responsibility is working closely with all internal and external functions to translate long-term strategy into highly effective annual marketing and sales strategies and tactics.
  • Drive cross-functional teamwork (incl. Innovation, Operations, Commercialization, Forecasting, Sales and Finance) to develop and execute key business initiatives, ranging from new items, renovations and driving demand initiatives.
  • Develop a monthly portfolio review to analyze and diagnose shipment performance to appropriate leadership and stakeholders. This includes identifying key root causes, trend analysis and developing actionable recommendations.
  • Brand Positioning - Help lead the execution of the Grandma’s brand positioning, including all elements of the marketing mix, including but not limited to brand “voice”, product portfolio, consumer messaging, packaging, pricing strategies, distribution strategies, etc.
  • Innovation - Support packaging artwork projects for new and existing product development. Working closely with commercialization & cross functional teams to ensure all deadlines are met within a timely manner.
  • Brand Advocacy - Work with the marketing and sales team to identify and leverage any consumer insights and trends that can turn into action specifically as it relates to category management and new product development driving sales growth.
  • Brand/Product Saliency - Work hand-in-hand with the sales organization to understand and integrate customer strategies in business and brand plans. Partner with marketing coordinator to create all product brand materials (sell sheets, launch decks, sales presentations as needed, etc.) and act as point of contact for these ongoing assets.
  • Agency Partnership - In concert with Brand Manager, serve as an interface with agency partners working closely on creative brief development, project management with executional excellence.
  • Price Analysis & Category Insights that will allow the company to understand consumer, competitive, and the evolving marketplace landscape that will allow us to capitalize on trends more effectively than larger competitors with more resources.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
  • BS/BA degree (preferably in Marketing)
  • Minimum 5 years CPG Brand Management, Agency or Shopper Marketing experience
  • Experience with B2B and B2C brands
  • Food industry experience
  • Proven ability to establish credibility as an expert capable of influencing and leading the development and implementation of communications strategies and plans.
  • Knowledge and experience developing strong, clear and measurable brand / product strategies, goals and plans aligned with business priorities.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills with ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Strong writing skills, great interpersonal skills, creativity, intellectual curiosity.
