Position Description
The assistant project manager role supports senior project management and field supervision in the planning and execution of multiple projects. The APM must be able to perform in a fast paced, complex environment coordinating with multiple departments across the organization.
Responsibilities
· Assist senior project management & field operations with:
o Project performance monitoring
o Project scheduling and coordination
o Resource needs and utilization
o Sub-contractor and vendor management
o Tracking and reporting project progress
o Coordination of project tasks and deliverable
o Submission of accurate invoicing
o Prepare project hand off meetings for senior project management
o Attend weekly project meetings with clients
· Assist estimating department with:
o Creation of project execution plan
o Creation of project bid level schedules
o Requests for quotes and proposals
o Attend pre-project walk downs and obtain notes to hand off to estimating tea
o Perform project takeoffs based on field notes from field supervision
Position Requirements
· High school diploma required
· Two- or four-year college education with a degree in a construction related field preferred
· Minimum of 3-5 years of construction experience preferred
· Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office required
· Strong knowledge of with scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6 preferred
· Strong knowledge of the job cost accounting process preferred
· Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
· Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
· Ability to self-motivate and motivate others
· Strong interpersonal, time management, communication and organizational skills required.
· Must possess a valid unrestricted driver’s license
