Position Overview

Riddell is seeking an experienced Associate Graphic Designer to join the Marketing Communications (MarCom) team. This small, but mighty in-house team services stakeholders across the business, including Executives, Sales, Apparel and Consumer Products, as well as providing support to external clients. You will be an integral part of the team, working on design projects from concept to production and final execution. The Associate Designer needs to be highly creative, organized, detail-oriented and interested in the sports industry, predominantly football. This particular role will have a heavy emphasis on the ideation of creative concepts for deployment on football helmets (i.e., aesthetic helmet design).

Essential Job Functions:

  • Formats, develops and prepares graphic artwork in preparation for production and for application on athletic equipment, namely football helmets.
  • Prepares detailed graphics from given data such as previous drawings, layouts, detailed sketches and customer instructions.
  • Creates and designs detailed graphics following customer instructions and established company standards and guidelines.
  • Maintains and updates graphics database and graphic files.
  • Identifies merchandise trends and customer needs as part of the design development.
  • Create a variety of print assets, such as event signage, flyers, product packaging and other print collateral.
  • With a sports mindset, create layouts for business objectives that reflect the current design trends in the industry utilizing graphics programs.
  • Design product catalogs for both print and digital publication.
  • Collaborate internally to plan, manage, produce and creatively direct annual content photo/video shoots, including minimal travel to on-site locations.
  • Conceptualize, design, and produce high quality content for Riddell social channels that convey appropriate messaging to chosen target audiences.
  • Create a variety of digital assets, such as web graphics, social media, video and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Contribute ideas for new and existing marketing campaigns and create related assets.
  • Capture product photography & videography in various settings, such as in studio or on-field, with complimentary skillset of post-production.
  • Uphold the Riddell brand guidelines while keeping content fresh and innovative.

What We Are Looking For:

Technical Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Marketing or related field.
  • Less than 2 years of graphic design, marketing or related experience.
  • Working knowledge of print and web Adobe Creative Suite products (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of video editing and animation software (Final Cut Pro X, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects).
  • Photography skills desired, including knowledge of studio lighting, equipment needs, etc.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office.

  • Self-starter who can take artistic direction and contribute ideas.
  • Able to work independently and as a part of our multi-location team.
  • Proven ability to consistently meet tight deadlines while multi-tasking.
  • Absorb direction quickly, always striving to produce consistency in design.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience working with project manager and project management software preferred.
  • Interest in working in corporate environment preferred.
  • Interest in sports culture (particularly football) and social media trends required.
