Description
The Stony Brook Cancer Center is seeking applicants for a Senior Faculty member in the rank of Associate or Full Professor with experience in cancer prevention research. The applicant is expected to conduct multidisciplinary cancer research encompassing epidemiology, cancer prevention, public health, as well as specialized areas such as nutrition, exercise science, environmental science, behavioral science or psycho-oncology. Research will have a strong focus on cancer disparities and on diseases contributing to the burden of cancer in the catchment population of Stony Brook Cancer Center and will be conducted in close collaboration with the Program of Cancer Outreach and Engagement. The applicant will have research experience focused on innovative strategies to promote reduction in cancer burden across the continuum from control of risk factors to early diagnosis, access to care, survivorship and outcome research. Experience in prevention trials and in studies that used innovative technology-driven interventions (i.e., eHealth, social media) would be an asset.

Stony Brook is a large research intensive state supported university. We have a prestigious medical school colocated with a science based university and hospital.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications: MD, PhD or equivalent degree, national recognition in cancer prevention; current externally funded grant awards.

Preferred Qualifications: Teaching, mentorship in cancer prevention and control and prevention trials; grant award from NCI.
