FLSA STATUS: 1.0 FTE (37.50 hours), Exempt/Non-Exempt, Union

COMPENSATION: Staff Therapist I: $60,094.32

Staff Therapist II: $68,679.97

Licensed Clinician: $80,142.70

La Familia has multiple Staff Therapist/Licensed Clinician openings within our Adult Outpatient Behavioral Health Programs. The Staff Therapist/Licensed Clinician will be under general supervision, provide counseling, psychotherapy, case management, and treatment services.

The following programs are looking for new team members to join La Familia:

In-Home Outreach Team (IHOT) Program

The IHOT Program conducts community outreach to homeless clientele and clientele residing in various institutional settings throughout the East Bay area who are enrolled in the program in an effort to establish contact, build rapport, and provide linkage services. Meets with clients on a consistent basis or as needed in the field for the purposes of establishing and maintaining contact; gradually build rapport and therapeutic alliance with clients; facilitate client interests in resources; develop and implement client care plans; support and accompany clients through interpersonal and institutional transitions; teach and enhance coping skills; facilitate healthy dialogue between clients and respective family members or relevant parties; leverage the interests of family members and clients towards common goals; and provide referral and linkage services to specialty mental health services in the community.

Service TEAM/Spanish Language ACCESS Program

Service TEAM /Spanish Language ACCESS Program provides Spanish-language psychotherapy and mental health services to adult clients in an outpatient office setting or working remotely via telehealth appointments. Services include: initial assessment, meeting with clients for regular psychotherapy sessions, guiding the clients in understanding his/her/their mental illness and contributing psycho-social stressors, development of a client centered treatment plan, coordinating care as needed with program psychiatrist, and completion of client chart documentation.

CalWORKs/Working Wellness Program

The Staff Therapist will maintain an active client caseload in the Working Wellness program, which aims to support individuals who are CalWORKs recipients in overcoming their mental health challenges that create barriers to obtaining competitive employment. The Staff Therapist is expected to meet monthly productivity goals; attend weekly group and individual clinical supervision; participate in training as assigned by his/her clinical supervisor of LFCS Administration; and attend weekly Outpatient Mental Health staff meetings. The Staff Therapist will work within all compliance standards; complete documentation in a timely manner per LFCS policy; and maintain strict confidentiality protocols. The Staff Therapist is also tasked with the responsibility of case management work to help clients engage in available resources that overall support their mental wellbeing. It is possible to accrue supervised clinical hours required for license as a LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, or Psychologist. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Graduate degree in social work, psychology or related field, and registration with the California BBS/BOP (e.g. PhD, PSYD, LCSW, MFT, ASW, and AMFT) or being currently enrolled in a graduate program for mental health and having completed half of the program.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of modern clinical psychology, including abnormal psychology, personality theory, diagnostic interviewing, psychotherapy - including brief therapy and behavior change, basics of case management, systems theory, family therapy, community psychology, and community mental health.
  • Ability to work as part of an integrated team and the capacity to be flexible, as needs and special events arise.
  • Ability to determine the needs of individual situations regarding diagnostic and therapeutic techniques, taking an effective course of action, and follow through with effective treatment plans.
  • Excellent speaking and writing abilities.
  • Knowledge of use of computer systems such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Salesforce or similar database applications.
  • Spanish Bilingual Preferred
  • Non-Profit and Community Based Organization experience highly desirable.
  • Demonstrates and models excellent “customer service” orientation, especially in the ability to interact with people at all levels within and outside the agency.
  • Thinks independently and can make informed decisions when needed.
  • Exercises extreme discretion with the ability to hold, balance and transmit public and confidential information needed by various parties.
  • Proficient using MS Office products, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Acquires or maintains proficiency in using Google Drive products, including Docs, Sheets, and Forms.
  • Valid CA Driver’s license
  • Auto insurance: Personal vehicle may be used for business related purposes; it is recommended you inform your auto insurance carrier.
