Better Hospitality Group (BHG) is the operating group behind three of Washington, D.C.’s most cherished neighborhood bar/restaurants: TAKODA in the capital’s bustling Shaw neighborhood, Boardwalk Bar & Arcade on the waterfront at The Wharf, and our newest TAKODA location in the Navy Yard neighborhood across the street from Nationals Park. Over the next few months, BHG will be opening a new wine bar concept, Easy Company, on the waterfront at The Wharf. BHG is the fastest growing bar/restaurant group in the Greater Washington region.

Description/Responsibilities

• Greeting guests with a positive attitude
• Present restaurant menus and help guests select food/beverages
• Take and serve orders
• Answer questions or make recommendations for complementary food/beverage/wine options
• Enhance our guests' experience at the bar and throughout the dining room with extensive knowledge of our menu and bartending expertise.
• Offer our guests a great experience by cheerfully greeting, taking guests orders, and serving up our fine wine, spirits, and delicious cocktails.
• Consistently delivering a high level of customer service to each bar guest and maintaining a safe environment.
• Act as a Brand Ambassador, engaging the guests about all of our locations and inviting them back again for Special Events
• Assist the Servers on the floor with taking table orders when needed.
• Adhere to all recipes when making beverages for the bar and dining room.
• Complete all side work necessary at the end of every shift.
• Engage with every department to ensure we are offering our guests the best possible experience.
• Positively helping other staff members to ensure a good team work environment
• Issue bills and accept payment via Toast

Transportation

• Must have reliable transportation
• Easy Company is located on the northwestern side of the Wharf and accessible by the green line on the metro (Waterfront and L’Enfant)

Knowledge and skills

• Excellent knowledge of food, wine, spirits & beer
• A willingness and enthusiasm for learning more to enhance your craft
• Team oriented and positive mindset

Education Requirements

• Minimum qualifications: highschool diploma or equivalent

Essential physical responsibilities

• Constant standing/walking
• Constant reaching, turning, twisting
• Be able to lift or carry up to 30lbs

Experience

• Full Service Servers: 2 years (Preferred)
• Restaurant experience: 2 years (Required)
• Bartender experience in a high-volume full-service restaurant.
• Professionalism, personable, organized with a sense of humor and a have strong passion for hospitality.
• Able to perform at the highest level ensuring excellent service to our guests and our team members on the floor in this fast-paced environment.
• Fluent in English and preferred knowledge of conversational spanish
• With open flexibility to work various shifts.
• With Knowledge of fine wine & spirits

• Open availability, including weekends & holidays

• Sunday 11am-10pm
• Monday -Thursday 11am-12am
• Friday-Saturday 11am-2pm

Pay: Tipped Minimum Wage (currently $5.35/hr) + Tips!!!
