SCOPE:

Support business banking initiatives related to business deposits, loans, treasury management, and merchant services. Primary focus on supporting the acquisition of new bank client relationships by account opening and related account maintenance activities. Promotes a sales and service culture. Gains broad knowledge of the products and services offered by the bank as well as the needs and financial goals of the customer, helping them optimize and manage their accounts. Understands and completes job responsibilities in accordance with federal and state regulations

Essential Functions:

Customer Relations:

  • Assist business partners, commercial relationship managers, branch managers, and related staff to facilitate a team environment and successful delivery of products and services. Be the expert in business account opening procedures and policy guidelines to share with other banker staff.
  • Manage relationships with high value business clients; promoting and marketing a broad range of bank products and services.
  • Responsible for supporting the deepening of customer relationships through direct sales efforts, cross-selling and referral efforts.
  • Manage customer accounts, including opening and closing accounts and overseeing transactions.
  • Open new checking, savings, and other deposit accounts for clients.
  • Clearly explain product and service benefits, requirements and restrictions, changes and other related product information to clients and bank employees.
  • Responsible for supporting business lines with sales volume and profitability goals, sales activities, and calling goals.
  • Develop internal and external referral sources through centers of influence, participation in bank events, community activities, and participation in seminars for professional and small business groups.
  • Understanding all company products and making referrals to other areas as appropriate.
  • Works as a liaison to refer meetings between prospective customers and appropriate line of business partners, including Commercial Relationship Managers, Treasury Management Representatives, Mortgage Loan Officers, and Outside Affiliated Product Reps.
  • Responsible for complying with policies, procedures, security requirements, and government regulations.

Product

  • Responsible for the maintenance and servicing of current retail accounts with direct responsibility for a portfolio of high-profile customers.
  • This position will help with specific product campaigns to deepen penetration of existing SSBT products as well as make new product recommendations to new and existing customers.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  • Actively involved in community and civic activities as appropriate to represent the SSBT in the community.
  • As part of the total bank staff, this position may be called on to support other activities as requested.
  • Participates in internal and external training and development opportunities as required
  • Other job-related duties necessary to carry out the responsibilities of this position

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or other related field, or equivalent work experience required

Experience

  • 3 - 5 years in of experience in person banking preferred
  • 5 - 8 years in of experience in business development required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proven ability to develop business relationships.
  • Possess strong networking and relationship management skills.
  • Possess effective presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Possess a working knowledge and understanding of cash management products and services.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations relating to commercial lending.
  • Strong communication and interdepartmental skills are needed, with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
