The Business Development Manager, will be responsible for managing the development of Food & Beverage OEM and large end user accounts domestic and/or international within Motion Business Area. The ideal candidate is a self-starting hunter with a proven track record of winning share at large complex F&B ( Food & Beverage) OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) or end users. The individual is responsible for developing and growing ABB’s relationship and market share through attracting new customers and by increasing share with existing customers. This involves such aspects as commercial agreements, proposal development, pricing development, risk assessment and sales strategies. This role serves as business consultant to senior managers, project participants, and customers while working with a variety of complex multilevel interactions.

Your responsibilities

  • Lead, and develop solution sales for Low Voltage Drives at key and complex F&B OEM and End User Accounts by using both Global and country/ customer specific review material, Implement short and long term business plan and actions and Influence stakeholders to partner on new business opportunities
  • Interface with large End user/ F&B OEM accounts (as assigned) to ensure consistent national support at a local area. Collaborate with ABB Divisions and Partners to drive strategic sales opportunities
  • Business Development involves coordination, tailoring product solutions, risk assessment and multi-level collaboration, having researched the business and requirements
  • Meet or exceed assigned sales budget in targeted business segment. Maintain and expand customer relationships, ensuring customer loyalty through excellent customer service as well as meeting all client needs appropriate to their business
  • Coordinate the implementation of Corporate Agreements with target F&B OEMs. This includes commercial terms, pricing, product configurations and risk assessment
  • Establish strong working relationships at multiple levels with key customers and end users. Negotiate and making offers in accordance with company procedures
  • Provide regular account summary reports to sales manager and Global account manager. Ensure compliance with all safety and work rules and regulations

Your background

  • Bachelor degree and 12 years of work experience OR Associate degree and 14 years of work experience OR High School Diploma/GED and 16 years of work experience required
  • Previous experience selling a technical product or service required
  • Travel up to 60% in Western US required
  • MS Office experience required and SAP/Salesforce or other CRM experience required
  • Extensive sales background in the F&B OEM and/or end user automation market highly preferred
  • Product and market knowledge in Drives and related systems highly preferred
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
