Non-Contact Technologies LLC Business Manager

Non-Contact Technologies, LLC (NCT) is a small, growing company producing high speed data acquisition hardware and software for specialized measurements on gas turbine engines and other rotating machinery. Located in Tullahoma, TN, NCT is looking for a talented business manager to oversee the business and financial operations of NCT. This position is for full-time employment.

Position Description

The Business Manager is responsible for the business and financial operations of the company. The

Business Manager will report directly to the LLC owners and will have certain signature authority as delegated by the owners. The Business Manager is responsible for ensuring that the business complies with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations as well as federal, state, and local taxes. The company has engaged appropriate tax accountants and legal counsel to assist with compliance questions and issues. The Business Manager should be able to handle regular business and financial operations and be able to identify when outside professionals should be consulted.

The Business Manager will supervise the Office Manager who is responsible for bookkeeping and basic accounting and payroll functions. The Business Manager should be familiar with accounting fundamentals and be able to provide general guidance to the Office Manager.

The Business Manager will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with customer contracts including government contracts. The Business Manager need not be a contract compliance expert but should be able to review contract language and identify compliance items.

Responsibilities

  • Business Administration
  • Maintain company’s status as an LLC including: documentation of company minutes, maintaining registration with state authorities, registering with new governmental authorities as needed, and other business entity maintenance activities
  • Maintain and apply for tax registration as needed
  • Work with owners to review and guide business operations and strategic planning
  • Financial Management
  • Oversee implementation of company’s financial records including: manage and maintain company’s recordkeeping policies, manage use of chart of accounts, provide guidance on how accounting and recordkeeping functions should be implemented
  • Prepare regular financial reports for company owners such as monthly balance sheet and income statements
  • Prepare such reports as required by the company’s accountant for preparation of corporate tax returns and work with accountant to understand and interpret recordkeeping data
  • Prepare and submit regular quarterly and annual tax filings
  • Prepare reports as needed and work with 401k administrator for preparation of annual compliance testing and filing of form 5500
  • Supervision
  • Supervise Office Manager providing general guidance, performance reviews, timesheet review and approval and other general supervisory functions
  • Contract Management
  • Review customer contracts and advise owners on areas of concern or additional cost/effort
  • Ensure mechanisms are in place to comply with contract requirements
  • Perform compliance functions that reasonable fall with general responsibilities and ensure that others fulfill their compliance obligations
  • Other duties and tasks as required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Understanding of general principles of business management

- Must be able to show strength in at least two or more of the following with the position requiring development of skills in all areas:

o Corporate entity management and registration

o General accounting principles

o Accounting software (Quickbooks preferred)

o Payroll operations and tax filings

o Contract review and compliance (especially government contracts)

- Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

- Must be able to think analytically

- Ability to create and maintain policies and procedures within area of responsibility

- Must have good attention to detail

- Ability to communicate orally and in writing

- Work independently with little or no supervision

- Ability to maintain effective working relationship with others

- Some remote work is possible, although certain minimum attendance at the office is required for interaction with others

- Must maintain personal and professional integrity, being honest and ethical

Qualifications

- Must have a Bachelor’s or Graduate degree

- A minimum GPA of 2.8 is required

- Minimum two years of experience managing business operations, preferably for a small business or a non-retail operation

- U.S. Citizenship and eligibility to obtain a U.S. Government granted security clearance is needed to be considered for employment

Pay: $50,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
