AK Industries, Inc., a Plymouth based manufacturer is seeking an experienced, energetic & motivated individual in the role of controller. The business is privately owned, has over 180 employees and has been in business for over 40 years.

Position Description: The controller reports directly to the owners. The controller contributes to all areas of plant management and provides strong financial leadership.

Essential Duties:

• Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billing & collections, payroll and human resources.
• Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations and G/L analysis.
• Point person on the following areas: group insurance, property insurance, 401k, banking relationship.
• Work closely with owners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operations.
• Comfortable handling responsibilities beyond formal job duties.
• Provide proactive interpretation and education of accounting, financial and operational matters to various management team colleagues for use in managing the business and decision making.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience in performing the same or similar job functions.
• command of direct costs

Be detailed, flexible, and organized

• Requires a bachelors degree in Accounting, CPA/MBA a +
• Excellent communication skills
