JOB SUMMARY

CHARTER & ACTIVITY BUS DRIVERS - GENERAL WORK HOURS

• Put your CDL to work for you without the commitment of running daily school bus routes - join our CHARTER TEAM instead.
• FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE.
• We have lots of charter opportunities to transport our scholars to activities during the day, after school, and on weekends.
• No "route" driving required.
• Pick charters that fit your schedule.

APPLICANT CONDITIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• Be at least 21 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Have a valid CDL driver's license with Passenger endorsement
• Be able to pass a Federal and State Background check
• Able to pass a DOT physical and Pre-Employment Drug Screen
• No more than 3 moving violations in the past 5 years or any other disqualifying event
• All employees are subject to Lake Country Transportation policies, rules, regulations.
• All employees are also subject to Drug & Alcohol policies as described during hiring process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Complete required Pre-Trip inspection
• Keep vehicle clean and fueled
• Safely transport scholars to and from activities
• Proficient in use of technology (GPS navigation, email, tablet, etc.)
• Promote a positive attitude toward student management and learning
• Follow all laws, rules and regulations
• Occasionally complete additional paperwork related to student conduct/behavior.
• Attend all required safety meetings

PHYSICAL EFFORT REQUIRED

• This position requires extended periods of sitting and repetitive motions of steering
• Must be able to conduct required pre-trip inspection
• Must be awake and alert at all times while driving

MENTAL EFFORT REQUIRED

• Position requires ability to drive safely in all weather conditions despite noise, distractions and interruptions while in traffic
• Complete route correctly and safely within a time frame
• Position may require dealing with some conflict resolution

ELECTRONIC DEVICES AND TECHNOLOGY

• Operate vehicle, 2-way radio, computer tablet.
• Familiar with the use of on board Emergency Equipment (body fluid kits, first aid kits, fire extinguisher)

Salary: starts at $27/hour - or more based on experience.
