La Grotta Team Member

Guido's La Grotta is the home of our artisanal cheese, charcuterie, and olive department. We specialize in the quality, freshness, and care of all the many cheeses (over 125 varieties!), meats, and various other specialty products we curate, direct import, and sell.

Guido’s Fresh Marketplace is looking to hire a cheese associate to join the newly renovated La Grotta Team in our Great Barrington store. As a La Grotta team member, you will be an integral part in the processing and selling of an extraordinary amount of cheese (close to 1000 pounds per week in our busy season!).

The La Grotta team member will report directly to the department manager and will assist in the organization, packaging & wrapping of cheese products. We are looking for a flexible team player with good organizational and customer service skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Assist in cutting and wrapping artisanal cheeses.

· Assist in cutting and grating Guido’s in-house line of grated cheeses.

· Help maintain retail cheese displays, cleaning/rewrapping of cheeses, organizing backstock, replenishing passive tastings, and overall organization and cleanliness of the department.

· Assist with La Grotta olive bar preparation and packaging.

Requirements

· Ability to hold, move, and cut 80-pound wheels of cheese

· Ability to follow instructions and procedures

· Effective time management skills

· Strong work ethic and integrity

· Comfortable with colder temperatures (cooler/freezer)

· Be upright and moving for long periods of time

· Lower oneself to grasp objects

· Move carts with products weighing up to 50 pounds

This position can be part-time or full-time. Saturday availability is a must. 8-hour shifts. Potential shift times:

Pay Range: Starting rate $15.50-16 commensurate with experience
