Job Summary:

The Local Class A Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods from origination to destination.

Essential Functions:

• Safe and efficient delivery of goods.
• Communicating and coordinating with dispatchers
• Obeying and following applicable traffic laws
• Maintaining a detailed log of working hours in compliance with state and federal regulations
• Ensuring any mechanical issues with the vehicle are corrected before driving
• Securing/handling of cargo and properly arranging and balancing it within the vehicle

Skills and Qualifications:

• 3+ years with no RMV/DMV accidents or violations reported is required
• Proven reliability
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to follow safety best practices
• Ability to speak sufficient English to communicate clearly
• Must have Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class
• Current TWIC card is a plus

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift 25-50 pounds at a time in order to move cases of product
• Move and/or position oneself, communicate, operate and/or prepare, place, position objects, tools, or controls with use of hands, including hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness related to the operation of a Class A motor vehicle
• Ability to read labels and other documentation, and see objects near and far along with peripheral vision
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close observation and the ability to adjust focus.
• Must be able to work in environments with variable noise levels, lighting conditions and temperature variation
• Frequently required to remain in a stationary position, while also regularly bending, lifting, stretching and reaching both below the waist and above the head.
• Must be able to be sedentary for long periods of time

• Must have a flexible schedule and be accessible outside of normal business hours
