Responsibilities
The Neuroscience Institute has combined the efforts of our Neurology, Neurosurgery and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation departments to provide a multidisciplinary team approach
for a wide range of neurological conditions. The NSI clinic pharmacist is primarily responsible for chronic pain management in this collaboration with NSI providers. Other neurologic
conditions requiring extensive medication management may also be encountered in clinical practice. The NSI pharmacist will provide direct patient care, managing individual patients and
The pharmacist is an essential member of the interdisciplinary team and practices under a collaborative drug therapy agreement (CDTA). In this advanced scope of practice position, the
pharmacist will assimilate and apply evidence-based information in the design, implementation, and evaluation of treatment plans across the continuum of the patient health care needs.
In addition to providing patient care, this position is responsible for advancing the profession of pharmacy and patient care within Virginia Mason Medical Center.

Qualifications
This position requires a Pharm D or B.S. in Pharmacy with relevant practice experience and a current Washington state licensure as a Pharmacist.- Post-graduate Year – 1 residency, or more than 3 years’ experience as a pharmacy provider as part of a physician group clinic.
- Excellent drug management skills, ability to work collaboratively in team setting, experience with using electronic medical records, and demonstrated expertise in prescribing drug therapy under protocol also required.
- Must meet requirements for ancillary provider credentialing at Virginia Mason.
- Experience in managing a broad range of complex, medication intensive patients in an ambulatory/clinic setting highly preferred..
- Specialty post-graduate year-2 residency training in ambulatory/clinical care preferred.
DEA Licensure or ability to get within 90 days is strongly preferred.
