Our highly respected and award-winning technical service team provides service in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont seven days a week. Our Red Cape Service is a level of dedication and a promise to our customers to deliver exceptional service.

We are currently looking for a Commercial Equipment Technician to join our team. This role is ideal for an individual who enjoys technical and/or mechanical projects and continual learning. Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to troubleshoot problems is a must.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • The following represents a list of essential duties and responsibilities; other duties may be assigned as required
  • Adjust, align, assemble, calibrate, inspect, and test commercial food prep equipment, electrical/mechanical and electronics troubleshooting
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled service activities including emergency service calls, preventative maintenance, site surveys, and installation onsite
  • Understand the customer’s processes, manuals, and schematic drawings sufficiently to recommend the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
  • Communicate with client regarding status of repairs to ensure schedule is maintained and delays or any issues are properly communicated
  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to clients at all times, providing the highest level of service and productivity
  • Maintain a clean and safe space by following all company policies and procedures, particularly regarding food safety
  • Accurately fill out proper documentation onsite such as working reports, timesheets, invoices, and warranties
  • Properly handle, care, and maintain company machines and equipment
  • Participate in “on call” service including weekend schedule rotation
  • Collect money from client on an as needed basis

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required, relevant achievement/certification from a vocational program is a plus
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with a desire to learn new techniques and processes
  • Experience with equipment maintenance and repairs preferred
  • Proficient in Windows software like Excel and Word
  • Ability to read an electrical wiring diagram is a plus
  • Refrigeration license or other certifications are a plus
  • Self-motived and willingness to work independently
  • Detail-orientated with superb time management skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service
  • Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving
  • Ability to work overtime and rotating weekend on call schedule as needed
