What you need to know
Salary: Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire's experience.

Position details: Supervises Student Workers
Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Four years of office administrative and/or communications experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to present information clearly and concisely.
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (Journalism, Communications, Marketing, English). Two years of relevant experience in journalism and/or communications-related roles.
  • More than 2 years of professional experience in marketing/communications. Some professional experience in a higher education setting.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of AP Style Guide.
  • Experience with Kentico, Wordpress, or other website CMS platforms.
  • Excellent interviewing, writing and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to interact and engage with a wide range of stakeholders to establish relationships and create a pipeline of story leads.
  • Ability to handle confidential and proprietary information with the utmost discretion.

Responsibilities
  • Writing - Writes communications, marketing, and web copy to promote and support the operations of the Graduate and Professional School.
  • Outreach - Collaborates with the colleges, departments and divisions throughout the university to advance and support graduate education at Texas A&M.
  • Speechwriting/Presentations - Assists the Associate Provost and Dean and the Director of Marketing/Communications for the Graduate and Professional School in representing/promoting graduate and professional education at Texas A&M.
  • Website and Database Maintenance - Updates and maintains web content to promote and support graduate and professional education at Texas A&M.
  • Interviewing – Develops questions and conducts interviews of graduate and professional education stakeholders for news articles, announcements and success stories.
  • Social Media - Works with the Director of Graduate and Professional Marketing and the Marketing and Communications social media team to manage and enhance the social media presence of the Graduate and Professional School. Performs other duties as assigned.
