- Work with the CFO to ensure financial statements are accurate and fairly report results of operation.
- Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts monthly. Prepare and submit associated reconciliation packages to the appropriate personnel.
- Make recommendations to the CFO concerning means of reducing organizational operating costs and increasing revenues based on market trends, financial reports, and operating procedures.
- Assist organizational department managers with the analysis and interpretation of their department financial statements so that they can reflect and explain variances from previous periods and budgets.
- Coordinate compilation of data in preparation of financial and operating reports for planning effective administration of organizational activities by management.
- Ascertain that organizational policies are adhered to.
- Assist facility department managers in preparing organizational budget based on past, current, and anticipated expenditures, and revenue.
- Reconcile organizations fixed assets and related accumulated depreciation accounts with the organizational policies.
- Evaluate general accounting and patient accounting procedures to plan and implement procedures for insuring timely receipt of payment on patient accounts, reducing costs of accounting operations, and expediting flow of work.
- Evaluate new and modified accounting systems to provide complete accurate reports and organizational assets, liabilities, and financial transactions.
- Train subordinates and monitor their performance to ensure financial responsibilities are fulfilled.
- Develop contacts outside of the organization with persons important to the organization’s fiscal operations.
- Stay current on issues important to fiscal operations through professional development seminars.
- Assist CFO in overseeing specific operations of specific departments.
- General supervision and direction of the Accounting / Finance departments.
- Responsible for carrying out duties as assigned by the CFO and/or Regional VP of Finance.
- Submits to Administration a plan of operation for each assigned area.
- Assists the CFO in the development of the annual management plan.
- Perform any other duties that may be necessary for the operation of the Weems organization.
- Assist Administration in working with Medical Staff and with all those concerned with the rendering of professional services.
