We're currently searching for a Controls Engineering Specialist for our customer in the southwest Grand Rapids, MI area. This is a direct hire opportunity with an international company. You will have an associate's or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with an interest in troubleshooting customer issues, and providing solutions via phone, virtual meetings, and email. This position will be working in a professional office environment with the engineering & sales teams with limited travel to customer sites.

Preferred Knowledge & Education:

• Maintaining industrial equipment and automation
• Technical experience dealing with customers, troubleshooting, and training
• Allen Bradley and/or Siemens PLC experience
• Programming experience with RSLogix 5, 500 and 5000 preferred
• Act as a technical resource to team and customers as needed
• Interest in working in an office environment a majority of the time with limited travel to customer manufacturing facilities
• Patience and understanding for customers that have various levels of PLC and computer experience
• Natural ability to immediately respond to urgent questions, establish priorities and delegate tasks as necessary
• Advanced analytical problem-solving skills to determine root cause of issues
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science and 1+ year of experience in the PLC field
