What we are looking for:

Grammer is looking for a Cost Accountant to join our location in Plymouth, MI. The ideal candidate will be competent in costing principles and systems, including bills of material and inventory flow. Be an analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and accurately at a detailed level.

What you will be doing:

  • Manage the standard costing system for various manufacturing facilities. Currently on ERP system - migrating to SAP
  • Calculate and process the annual standards update for purchased and manufactured product, as well as standards updates throughout the year
  • Calculate the annual purchased materials budget - including preparation of comparisons to prior year and explanation of variances in support of our regional purchasing team
  • Maintain product routing within the bills of material
  • Perform month-end closing activities. This includes preparation of management reports, and purchasing cost comparisons
  • Regular analysis and reporting of profit margins
  • Assist plant controllers as needed
  • May perform other duties as assigned


What you will bring along:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 3 years minimal experience in manufacturing or plant accounting
  • Proficient at Microsoft Excel and Word
  • AS400 query experience is a plus
