Sappi Somerset is among the largest paper mills in North America, producing over 970,000 metric tons of graphics and board paper and 530,000 metric tons of pulp each year. The mill began as a greenfield pulp mill in 1976, supplying fiber for Scott paper tissue mills. The first of three state-of-the-art coated paper machines was installed in 1982, with subsequent machines installed in 1986 and 1990. Significant reinvestments over the years has maintained Somerset's edge on technology and also to branch out from traditional graphic paper into SBS board grades with the rebuild of PM1 in 2018. Essential Function Responsibilities:

• Maintains desktop operating systems (Windows 10/7), including loading, configuration and troubleshooting in an Active Directory-based networked environment
• Provides support, including loading, configuration and troubleshooting of Microsoft Office Productivity application via SCCM (Microsoft Office 365) and many other PC based applications, such as Outlook, AutoCAD, SAP desktop client (SAP GUI), etc.
• Assures that Somerset IT adheres to Company software standards and licensing policies.
• Provides configuration and troubleshooting of PC peripherals (scanners, printers, cameras, etc.)
• Provides support of handheld devices
• Works closely with the Service Desk Personnel and logs and tracks support requests
• Responds to desktop support calls in accordance with established Service Level Agreements
• Works with the Desktop Support Supervisor to develop plans and define priorities

Special Skills/Certifications, etc.:

• Solid understanding of MS Windows environments including servers, workstations, and user administration.
• Solid understanding of Ethernet networking environments
• Willingness to work together in a team atmosphere where cross training, corroboration, and mutual assistance is very important
• Desire to continuously learn new skills and apply them in a manner to achieve the desired business needs
• Desktop, laptop, handheld PC’s, peripheral support

Entry Requirements:

• One to three years’ experience in Windows (10/7/XP/NT) desktop support
• Understanding of TCP/IP networking and routing
• Strong knowledge of Sappi’s Somerset Plant, physical plant layout, equipment locations and department locations
• Ability to be independently productive on day 1 with little to no training
• Strong customer service and communications skills
• Thrive in a fast-paced team focused on customer satisfaction.
