ROLE:

The Digital Marketing Strategist (DMS) reports to the Digital Strategy Manager (DSM) and will help drive digital sales and marketing efforts and work closely with the Advertising Director and sales staff of The Intelligencer, Wheeling News-Register, The Times Leader, Herald Star and Weirton Daily Times. The DMS is responsible for client digital marketing strategies, driving both results for the client as well as digital revenue growth.

The primary goal of the DMS is to generate and maintain digital revenue. The DMS may work directly with any client to provide a specialized set of skills and expertise. For standard digital marketing projects, such as banner advertising, multimedia sales consultants can take the lead with support from the DMS; however, on specialized digital marketing projects such as strategy development, website development, targeted fulfillment and project management, the DMS will take the lead. The DMS is also expected to be a champion for digital marketing throughout the community – sharing knowledge formally and informally (via blog, email, social media, speaking, etc.), and otherwise positively influencing the digital culture of the The Intelligencer, Wheeling News-Register, The Times Leader, Herald Star and Weirton Daily Times.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Generate new digital revenue for Reimagine Main Street
• Generate new digital revenue for the The Intelligencer, Wheeling News-Register, The Times Leader, Herald Star and Weirton Daily Times
• Assist multimedia sales representatives with selling digital projects
• Complete, design and present proposals to potential clients
• Review, organize and present monthly digital reports to clients
• Build and maintain relationships with new and existing clients
• Implement digital marketing strategies in-house and with various vendor/partners (i.e. website builds, social media ads and content, pay-per-click campaigns, targeted campaigns, blog content)
• Think creatively and strategically on existing and new digital campaigns, strategies and products
• Educate clients and multimedia sales representatives on digital opportunities
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous experience in digital strategy and marketing a plus
• Direct experience with marketing and revenue generation is a necessity
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in an environment that requires regular evaluation, negotiation of priorities and the ability to achieve revenue goals
• Strong customer service with interpersonal and communication skills required – the ability to interact with many different people, internally and externally
• Ability to create long lasting client relationships built on trust and success
• Teachable, and a constant learner – reads industry blogs, books, etc., with the desire to dive in, to learn and shape their role and digital knowledge
• Advanced computer skills
• Work autonomously in a fast paced environment, at peak performance
• Command of grammar and language sufficient to create professional documents

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $32,500.00 per year
