Our client, is a growing not-for-profit financial organization in Marion, IN. They are seeking a future-focused leader capable of building strong relationships to help lead the organization through the next stage of growth. This position is a key member of the Executive Team and reports to the Chief Executive Officer. This role is crucial to the organization’s ability to develop and successfully execute strategic initiatives that ensure safe and sound business practices and growth.

The Director of Accounting and Finance will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, budgeting, implementing, managing, and controlling all financial-related activities of the organization. This will include direct responsibility and oversight of the accounting and compliance departments. This role supports 3 offices and 5 counties with a commitment to build a stronger community through inclusion and education.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

• Salary range of $80-90K

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE DIRECTOR OF ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE:

• Financial reporting and analysis, budgeting, investing, asset liability management and compliance
• Serve as a member of the Executive Team and support the strategic priorities of the organization
• Provide leadership in the development for the continuous execution and evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives
• Oversee, manage and direct the activities of the compliance and accounting departments
• Develop high-functioning employees including training, performance management, and compensation management
• Oversee reporting to regulatory authorities and to the Board
• Work directly with auditors/examiners on year-end and comprehensive audits
• Review, analyze, and implement risk management initiatives and serve on committees as needed
• Review operational procedures and implement changes to obtain optimum efficiency and reduced costs
• Actively participate in the development, planning, and implementation of new products and services
• Write, review, and distribute financial policy and procedure statements to ensure regulatory and policy compliance
• Tax reporting

QUALIFICATIONS AND CHARACTERISTICS FOR THE DIRECTOR OF ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE:

• 5+ years of management experience
• 8+ years experience working in finance or accounting
• Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s degree or CPA - a plus but not required.
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization.
• Strong problem-solving and creative skills, and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
• High level of integrity and dependability.
