Job Summary

This position directs and oversees the development and implementation of an effective physical security strategy to mitigate risk, maintain continuity of business operations while safeguarding company personnel, assets and information. The position is also responsible to oversee the management and execution of the Buildings & Grounds capital and maintenance budgets and financial forecasts including long term planning for capital investment and expansion.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the UGIU gas and electric physical security activities. Direct security staff in identifying, developing, implementing, and maintaining security processes across the company. Advise and recommend the adoption of appropriate security policies and control measures to meet regulatory requirements where applicable.
  • Oversee Buildings & Grounds activities including the oversight and execution of OPEX maintenance budget and capital budget renovations and expansion. Ensure overall capital planning and execution meets financial goals. Maintains accurate financial forecasts.
  • Oversee the UGIU business continuity (BC) program. Establish policies and procedures for the BC program companywide that meets all regulatory emergency preparedness requirements.
  • Oversee the management of UGIU gas and electric claims activities (motor vehicle, company and third-party property damage, personal injury) and ensure claims resolution is in the best interests of the company. Consults with Legal as appropriate.
  • Complete other assigned duties as required including special projects, investigations, internal / external audits, and assessments.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to manage confidential information.
  • Ability to lead others, including direct and indirect reports, contract security staff, and external vendors to ensure projects, policies and practices are executed as planned / budgeted.
  • Knowledge of the operation and capabilities of alarm systems, access controls systems and video management systems. Understands regulatory requirements and implications.
  • Demonstrated ability to direct, monitor and address the budget process to ensure accurate financial forecasts and achievement of financial goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with others and build relationships at all levels in an organization, both internally and externally.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, criminal justice, law enforcement, security, or closely related field preferred. A concentration in business continuity / emergency management desired, but not required.
  • 10 years of direct experience performing supervisory responsibilities or highly responsible work relating to tasks assigned to this position preferred.
  • A professional certification(s) in physical security, facilities management or business continuity preferred but not required.
  • Valid PA Driver’s License.
  • Specific experience working with CCURE 9000 access control system, Avigilon ACC video management system and Fusion Framework business continuity software application.
