Responsibilities:
Distribution Center Supervisor responsibilities include but are not limited to:

This position is responsible for daily supervision of the warehouse in order to improve safety, service, productivity, cost control, and compliance of standard operating procedures for the department.

  • Responsible for the daily supervision of a safe warehouse and operations
  • Position will have single facility responsibility and will report to the Distribution Manager
  • Execute and enforce safety standards within the Department. Drive accountability for safe behaviors by coaching team members. Identify and remove risks related to having a safe work environment
  • Lead people management and development for warehouse staff including a disciplined approach to recruiting, training, coaching, performance management and retention
  • Ensures compliance with Pre & Post Trip, inspections, utilization, PM schedule, repair/maintenance, defrost, breakdown pick-up, and other procedures
  • Effectively manage costs associated with inventory controls (shrink, damage, etc)
  • Partner with Production Management to meet overall location service, goals and objectives as well as reinforce key messages on areas of focus and strategic priority for the business and helps the team through changes
  • Provide leadership and execution of efficient warehouse operations that deliver on company objectives. Ensures proper standards are followed regarding product loading, receipt of product, inventory, departmental maintenance and product safety
  • Executes and follows any government regulations concerning EPA, OSHA, all food safety regulations, and other safety-related regulations, as specified in the company's manual
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Qualified candidates for the Distribution Center Supervisor position should possess the following:
  • At least three to five years Management experience
  • Good understanding of the logistical requirements of Iowa location
  • Working knowledge of a warehouse and distribution center

  • Ability to maintain high expectation for self and others, demonstrating a dedication to achieve or exceed goals
  • Demonstrated ability to function within a high paced environment. Is able to deal effectively and systematically with change
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Solid problem solving, project management, multi-tasking and prioritization skills
  • Detail oriented, organized, reliable and resourceful
  • Ability to work independently of supervision and within a team environment
