Currently seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer for a client in Avilla, IN, with a primary responsibility to design and implement the control systems for client projects.

Electrical Controls Engineer Responsibilities:

• Work closely with Electrical Engineering Tech(s), Project Engineer(s) and Field Superintendent(s)
• Manage the projects
• Ensure project is completed on time and within the Customer’s, Vendor/Contractor’s and client's contractual obligations
• Control system design: Develop/review control system design to project specifications and scope

-Ensure common components are specified, as applicable
-Ensure engineering practices and principles are applied to application
-Develop/review electrical protection selection and sizing
-Develop/modify electrical prints for construction and installation

• Panel/wireway construction: Review electrical prints for construction of panels to acquire BOM

-Quote and order necessary components for construction
-Construct panels and wireways
-Update electrical print BOMs as necessary following construction

• PLC/HMI programming: Specify correct controller and HMI for project

-Quote and order necessary components
-Develop/modify PLC and/or HMI code as required for debug and startup

• Develop and maintain associated project correspondence: Develop/review/ coordinate RFQ documents and prints

-Coordinate/conduct contractor walk-throughs and site visits

• System start up/service: Coordinate/monitor construction schedule for system start up

-Complete and document on site I/O check and system debug
-Troubleshoot system
-Conduct customer system training

• Develop, update and maintain ALL associated project checklists and documents: Develop, review and update Recommended Spare Parts list as applicable

Develop/review electrical section(s) of Maintenance Manual

• Assist with Project Management and/or other projects as needed

Electrical Controls Engineer Requirements:

• 5+ years Industrial or Construction Electrical Controls experience
• 5+ years PLC AllenBradley and/or Siemen's experience
• AutoCAD experience and/or ability to review/understand prints
• Self-motivated, independent worker
• Ability to travel 20% (you schedule, based on projects)
