The Opportunity

In this role, you will lead, coordinate and perform all activities relating to procuring underwriting agency approval for product compliance.

This will include intrinsic safety and flameproof hazardous area approvals, SIL approval, Pressure Equipment Directive, CE Mark, Pressure Vessel Integrity and other safety related approvals for new and existing products.

This person will be an integral part of the new product development (NPD) team and will guide the NPD design process so the end product complies with the safety approval level defined in the design criteria.

Experience Requirements:

• Must have experience with managing worldwide approval agency vendors through the product safety underwriting process
• Must have a working knowledge of international standards for intrinsic safety concepts and flameproof concepts for hazardous area locations including but not limited to:
• IECEx (International)
• Factory Mutual (USA)
• CSA (Canada)
• ATEX (Europe)
• CCC/NEPSI (China)

Must be familiar with CE Mark, Safety Integrity Level (SIL) systems and pressure vessel safety standards

The Successful Candidate Will Be Someone Who:

• Excels in an environment of ambiguity and change, is highly adaptable and relishes the opportunity of working with people around the world on highly technical subjects
• Has excellent written and verbal communication skills and can effectively direct and technically challenge external underwriting agencies with the safety underwriting process
• Project management skills for developing schedules, preparing budges and monitoring and managing costs associated with the approval process
