What you will do:

This position will provide DCS support and engineering services in the field of electrical, instrumentation, and controls as necessary to provide for safe operations, regulatory compliance, and maximum availability of production units and/or infrastructure and utility systems.


  • Support and closely cooperate with the Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls Engineering (EI&C) Manager to ensure safe operating conditions and regulatory compliance of production units.
  • Participate in the commissioning of new and modified production units.
  • Responsible for design, development, and implementation of new control loops.
  • Support the maintenance team in the execution of ITPM and maintenance, repair, and operation (MRO) activities as required.
  • Become an expert capable of exercising EI&C engineering judgment with respect to the process areas of responsibility and assigned subject matters.
  • Conduct or coordinate troubleshooting activities.
  • Drive and support continuous improvement activities related to safety, quality, and cost.
  • Cooperate with groups and individuals within the Engineering and Maintenance departments, within Operations, and within other service units with focus on achieving optimal results and solutions from a corporate enterprise perspective.
  • Keep documentation and equipment records up to date.
  • As needed, coordinate 3rd party providers for engineering and maintenance services.

What we need from you:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Instrumentation, Automation or Controls Engineering) or Chemical Engineering
  • 3+ years of professional experience in the field of EI&C plant engineering or maintenance
  • Preferred knowledge of the following: Delta V, PI Databook, SAP EAM, and functional safety
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures for Control Loop design and optimization (ISA)
  • Thorough technical knowledge in the field of instrumentation, networking, and DCS and SIS automation and controls including relevant regulations, standards, and codes.
  • Ability to troubleshoot system and process problems in collaboration with Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations
  • Strong multitasking competency
  • Ability to perform and succeed in an environment of schedule and cost pressure
