Engineering Manager - Brownsville, TX

As a senior member of BTX Fiber, the Engineering Manager will play a critical role in current and future growth. The candidate will be accountable for key metrics in BTX Fiber markets, provide strategic leadership in collaboration with engineering and design activities, and coordinate with local construction leadership. BTX Fiber is looking for intelligent, aggressive, and thoughtful candidates to identify and execute strategic growth opportunities to stay within budget, project timelines, garner better communication between departments, and expand revenue proactively.

The Engineering Manager will assist in directing and managing BTX’s strategies and engineering programs while working closely with construction resources. Duties for the Engineering Manager will include assigning budget resources, articulating policies, managing engineering operations, observing and motivating staff, managing operational expenses, ensuring satisfactory design standards, improving administration processes, engaging with vendors, hiring and training employees, identifying business opportunities, and monitoring financial activities and schedules.
The Engineering Manager's vision in directing engineering functions will promote BTX Fiber in preserving relationships with clients, generating new business, increasing staff productivity, improving communication, safeguarding sustainability, and meeting business expectations.

The successful candidate should possess excellent communication skills, superior engineering and construction functions knowledge, and strong leadership qualities. The Engineering Manager should account for engineering activities including design, permits, construction drawings, and asbuilting, support staff development, enhance efficiency, create schedules, maintain relationships with vendors, and enhance the organization's image. Working and collaborating well with other BTX Fiber Marketing, Operations, and Construction team members and meeting overall growth objectives is also key to the success of this role.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise day to day engineering operations, including but not limited to managing all local in-market staff in addition to vendors and partners providing in-market services analyze and report market segment performance metrics to BTX Fiber leadership team

• Conducting and participating in pre-construction walkouts with construction resources
• Developing and implementing growth strategies
• Creating processes and programs to establish scalable infrastructure for BTX Fiber markets
• Identifying best practices
• Manage the as-built process
• Conduct field verification of assets for as-built posting
• Assisting in managing revenue metrics and targets and holding the market team accountable
• Oversee and manage local subcontractors and vendors

• Become proficient and implement technologies like Vetro and Vitruvi
• Training market staff
• Conducting performance and productivity evaluations
• Producing reports and giving presentations
• Meeting or surpassing key performance indicators
