Engineering Manager

Our client, a global, award winning, established and growing organization, is seeking a talented Engineering Manager to join their team at their equipment and systems manufacturing facility in the Jamestown, NY area. THIS OPPORTUNITY OFFERS THE POTENTIAL FOR PROMOTION TO OPERATIONS MANAGER.

OBJECTIVE: You will hold a key leadership role within the Plant. You will provide the leadership and technical support for a team of engineers involved in the operational support efforts of manufacturing within the plant. You will engage in a variety of projects including the execution of program budgets, schedules, and resource allocations. You will partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Quality on production issues (design and/or process problems, design reviews, and failure analysis). You will interface with customers through manufacturing process reviews and customer site meetings, as well as mentor engineers, and operations and technical personnel in manufacturing and new product development (NPD) methodology.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Manage designer(s) and engineer(s)

· Responsible for the ongoing professional development of the Engineering team

· Work in a cross-functional environment as a leader influencing positive change and continuous improvement

· Creation and management of parts, assemblies, and drawings

· Creation of design layouts from conceptual outlines

· Detailed product drawings and the distribution and control of engineering documentation

· Design and testing of new products

· Product cost management and BOM development and management

· Work with the Materials Manager and Quality Manager to improve both quality and cost of products from suppliers

· CNC part programming

· Administrate PDM software and processes

· Utilize Company Business Systems tools to drive product development and improvements

· Facilitate migration of new products to production

· Oversee engineering change process

CAREER PROGRESSIONS / PROMOTABLE TO: Operations Manager

· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Technology or similar field.

· 2+ years of sheet metal design and process experience.

· 2+ years of supervisory experience.

· Experience using 2D and 3D CAD packages, SolidWorks, or similar experience required.

· Experience in CNC programming and production control software.

· Experience in product estimating and BOM generation.

· Expert in Microsoft Office and strong computer skills.

· Experience working with suppliers and customers.

· Manufacturing experience.

· Strong problem-solving skills.

· Understanding of Lean Manufacturing / Kaizen.

SALARY:
