Job Description :

1. Prepare various avionics/electrical engineer documents.

- Research documentation for proper applicatoin to aircraft signoffs.

- Support generating ELA (electical load analysis).

- Support generating RFI (radio freq interference).

2. Prepare STC (design drawing and schematics) for modification of aircraft.

- Draft wiring schematic as required

- Determine integration interface for Garmin Avionics.

3. Prepare data obtained from ground and flights tests and perform data analysis.

- Support test flights by determining post installation requirements to meet minor and major alterations.

4. Troubleshoot aircraft/avionics/electrical problems.

- Troubleshoot in projects cross-functionally to meet schedule deadlines.

- Utilize Garmin DRC to help support proper documentation for installs.

5. Creates schematic and installation drawings utilizing CAD software.

6. Familiar with parts and materials to ensure correct use in system design.

7. Supervises intern and avionics technicians/installers either individually or as a team.

8. Communicate with management regarding scheduling, risk, and cost factors relating to engineering issues.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

5-10 years of experience relating to avionics equipment or airframe integration

Experience in CAD, AutoCAD, or its equivalent

Communication Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend detailed instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write clear, concise correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Good grammar and spelling skills.

Work Environment:

Occasional exposure to general shop conditions.

Occasional exposure to airborne particles and small enclosed areas i.e. small aircraft interiors.

Occasional exposure to seasonal weather.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all unity of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent for calculations of profit/loss. Ability to understand departmental financial statements.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills:

Must be computer literate (PC minimum). Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
