Cooperative Home Care Associates (CHCA) is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Finance Manager to manage the day-to-day finance operations at CHCA and will oversee the payroll function of the Finance Department. The Finance Manager will oversee an annual budget of $60M and will be responsible for supervising our bookkeepers, and payroll specialist.
Areas of Responsibility:
Financial Management
- Ensuring that CHCA financial records are accurate, complete, and produced in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Generate financial reports for the Board of Directors, Senior Leadership, all staff, and worker-owners.
- General Ledger gatekeeper to ensure integrity of content. This includes company activity and budget details.
- Review and reconciles financial information to ensure that the organizational resources are allocated appropriately and efficiently.
- Utilizes Accounting software (FUND-EZ), Arrow (Timesheet, billing, and A/R platform) and Basic Pay payroll software in performance of job.
- Serves as a liaison and point of contact with external partners (i.e., financial institutions, auditors, creditors, regulators, etc.) to provide financial information as required.
- Establishes and monitors internal controls for the Finance Department.
Financial Planning
- Participates in the development of goals, including financial profitability, quality jobs and quality care.
- Works with CFO to prepare the organization’s operating, capital, and cash budgets.
- Forecasting and roll forwards of company income statement, profit loss statements and balance sheet items.
- Generates Cash flow projections.
- Identifies and reports on key performance indicators (KPI) and objectives and key results (OKRs)
- Conducts monthly analysis of company results and reports to CFO. This shall include performance assessment related to operating and training revenue and non-operating income, direct labor support distribution of expenses, training service support costs, shared service support expenses, OTPS, G&A and overhead. Analysis should include month to month, YTD, YOY, actual v budget variance analysis and reports findings to the CFO.
Required Qualifications
- College degree, in business or accounting. CPA a plus.
- Five years’ experience in accounting and payroll processing functions.
- Minimum of three years Supervisory/Management experience.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite and financial accounting software.
- Accuracy in financial calculations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus but not required.
- An understanding of the cooperative movement – its values, strengths, and potential a plus.
