Forester

JD Forest Management is seeking to hire a full-time forester in the Priest River, Idaho area. The position entails normal forestry work including harvest unit layout and logging administration, managing silviculture operations, timber cruising and forestry consulting with private landowners. Forestry work will be done both on company industrial timberlands as well as consulting for small private landowners. We are a fast-paced growing company and we take great pride in our work. Job description and daily responsibilities:

• Harvest unit layout and logging administration
• Timber cruising
• Administration of silvicultural operations including planting, PCT, spray and fertilization
• Consulting with private landowners and writing forest plans

Basic qualifications:

• Must be business-minded and a self-starter
• 1-3 years experience in commercial forestry required
• Bachelor’s degree in Forestry required
• Experience with forestry consulting with private landowners a positive
• Experience with Excel and ArcGIS a positive
• Experience with OnX Hunt and Avenza Maps a positive

• Compensation will be competitive and based on experience
