Freight Brokerage Sales and Development Executive

Job description

We are developing our domestic freight brokerage division and are seeking an experienced and motivated person to lead this growth. This candidate will have the rare opportunity to directly contribute to the development of this operating unit, as well as enjoy the benefits of its growth. The ideal candidate must have solid experience in freight brokerage sales, carrier relations, and developing customers within the New England freight market.

Opportunities and Responsibilities

• Gain brokerage sales with existing asset-based customers.
• Capture additional brokerage business from warehouse distribution customers.
• Prospect/ Cold Call for new business within the New England market and beyond.
• Grow truckload, flatbed, LTL and drayage carrier network.
• Develop LTL consolidation service by leveraging our warehousing business.
• Work closely with operations to make the sale, match the carrier and capture the customer.
• Plan and manage customer’s business portfolio.
• Negotiate with carriers to meet margin requirements.
• Record and report all prospecting and sales activity in CRM software.
• Must be able to travel for day sales trips.
• Work closely in supporting the administrative, operations and brokerage staff.
• Work primarily done in the office Lee, NH.

Knowledge and Experience

• Minimum of 5-10 Years of truck freight brokerage sales.
• Minimum of 5-10 years carrier development and negotiation.
• Must have experience selling brokerage services and developing a carrier base in the New England market.
• Exhibit strong communication skills internally and externally.
• Must have organizational sensitivity to the needs of the company.
• Must be a team player.
• Book of business and carrier following a plus.
• LTL consolidation experience a plus.
• Management experience a plus.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
