We are a fast growing, established optometry office in San Marcos. We are seeking a part time medical receptionist/optician. Optical/optician experience is ideal, but not required. Hours of business are Monday-Friday, 10:00am-6:00pm. No weekends! Hours for part time will be discussed during interview.

Responsibilities include front desk duties, insurance billing, patient pretesting, and optical sales. You will essentially take a patient from scheduling all the way through their insurance verification, prescreening, glasses selection and measurement, limited production, and billing. We will teach you anything you don't know; willingness to learn will be a big part of this.

There will be a lot of patient interaction: people skills are vital. Good phone skills are required and simple office skills such as Word/Excel are a must. Optical/optician experience is a plus but not required; we are willing to train a good applicant. Spanish speakers are a HUGE plus!

We have a fun team of people who try not to take ourselves too seriously, but we do take our work very seriously. There is plenty of opportunity to grow within the business. Pay is with equal with experience and ambition: we encourage licensing and learning, and we will reimburse and reward those who maintain that path.
