Position Summary: The Critical Care Coordinator/Educator will assist in the operations of the Critical Care departments in the absence of the Nurse Manager. Possesses qualifications and experience to care for pediatric, adolescents, adult and geriatric patients. Responsible for assisting in the implementation and development of department policies. Responsible for completion of assigned operational/departmental functions. Promptly and fully investigates and responds to complaints. Promotes sound clinical judgment, moral advocacy, response to diversity, and care that creates a compassionate and therapeutic environment. Participates with health care team in continuous performance improvement. Will assist nurse manager with other activities/duties as assigned. The nurse, in conjunction with the Nurse Manager, participates in performance excellence initiatives that are focused on improving patient care and outcomes. Oversees clinical orientation program of new employees. Assures competencies of staff members providing care to patients from pediatric through geriatrics. Initiates and participates in activities to promote optimal patient outcomes and compliance to regulatory standards. Coordinates and provides continuing education on new procedures, equipment, medications and all areas of assessed need.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education Required:

Graduate of a Registered Nurse program. BSN or completion within three years.

Experience Required: 5 years Critical Care experience including trauma, open heart, cardiac and neuro patient management

Required Certification/Licensure/Registration

Current RN licensure, ACLS, PALS, Trauma Certification, CCRN or obtain within 1 year.

Skills and Abilities:

Ability to assess and provide age/developmental specific patient care
