Day’s Jewelers is a chain of full-service jewelry stores located in Maine and New Hampshire. Founded in Portland, Maine in 1914 by the Davidson family and later purchased by the Corey family in 1988, the company was family owned and operated for 107 years. The Help Desk Technician provides assistance to any and all employees using computer hardware and software, supports information technology employees within the organization, and assists non-IT users (internal and/or external) who are experiencing hardware and/or software problems. They will assist the IT department in rolling out new technologies within the company and provide the necessary documentation and procedures needed to finalize such projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• First line of support for technology users.
• Day to day tasks include adding and deleting users, modifying users' passwords, and distribution lists, checking the error log files as well as viewing log files for warnings and/or errors, and notifying the System Administrator of the problems associated with the services.
• Documenting and tracking of reported problems.
• Provide support to all users ensuring that equipment in the company is fully operational, running the latest software versions, and is secure with up-to-date virus signature files and Windows Updates.
• Act as the primary contact point for user interaction in regard to all issues.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
• Assist or lead special projects as directed by the IT Manager.
