Summary
Surf or Sound is looking for a professional and experienced housekeeping manager to perform impeccable housekeeping services and provide our guests and property owners with a safe and clean environment to vacation on Hatteras Island. In this role, you will lead the housekeeping team alongside other team members and department managers to ensure employees comply with high standards of cleanliness and provide an unmatched client experience.

Experience in a supervisory role overseeing housekeeping staff or a similar role is required. If you have excellent communication skills and leadership experience, we highly encourage you to apply.

Qualification Requirements
This role will focus on ensuring unmatched levels of cleanliness, guest & employee service and satisfaction for vacation rental homes on Hatteras Island. To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty with excellence. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Essential Functions

· Own department area metrics for success and root cause / counter measure solutions.

· Monitor all daily operations of the housekeeping department, including the cleanliness of all properties under Surf or Sound management and all Surf or Sound office spaces.

· Lead, hire, and train housekeeping staff to adhere to our high standards of cleanliness and customer satisfaction.

· Oversee the housekeeping department budget, take inventory, and ensure there is adequate stock of cleaning supplies and associated home items.

· Document housekeeper performance and report any issues such as room damage or maintenance requests to the appropriate department and in a timely manner.

· Engage with guests, owners, and the business to be the housekeeping single point of contact for your designated area of responsibility.

· Coordinate the resolution of guest complaints in a timely manner.

· Conduct weekly schedule reviews and after-action reviews.

Physical Requirements
Physical activities will include climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and performing repetitive motions. Employee must have the ability lift over 30 pounds frequently and up to 40 pounds occasionally. Must be able to climb three to four flights of stairs multiple times a day in all weather conditions.

Working Conditions
Work is preformed primarily inside but you will be subject to heat, sun, wind, blowing sand, rain and cold.

Minimum Qualifications

· 3+ years of supervisory experience in housekeeping management as an executive housekeeper, housekeeping director, or other similar position.

· Associate degree or vocational training in hospitality services (preferred)

  • Two or more years of experience in Housekeeping Management capacity while leading a team of at least 100 – 150 housekeepers.
  • Ability to multi-task, work in fast paced environment and have a high-level attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with a Property Management System.
  • Managed inventory, ordering supplies, processing payroll, and scheduling.

65,000 – 75,000 per year based on experience. Relocation assistance offered but no housing is currently available. Earn up to $50,000 in bonus'
