Meyer Utility Structures, an Arcosa subsidiary, is searching for a talented team player to fill the open position of Human Resources Generalist. Reporting directly to the HR Manager, the HR Generalist is responsible for performing a variety of human resources duties in support of the plant exempt and non-exempt employees. This role will focus on HRIS maintenance, reporting and tracking payroll, hourly recruiting and HR reporting. The successful HR Generalist will help foster a safety culture for all employees as well as support quality objectives.

What you’ll Do:

• Develop and administer various human resources strategic plans and procedures for plant personnel, at the direction of the HR Manager
• Plan, organize and control activities of the department as directed by the HR Manager
• Rewrite job descriptions as necessary, work with Corporate Compensation and HR Manager to coordinate annual merit pool (salary budget) and monitor the performance evaluation program and revise as necessary
• Help perform benefits administration to include annual enrollment activities and/or presentations; assists Safety Manager with Worker's Compensation, change reporting,
• Work with the HR Manager to determine staffing needs, participate/coordinate recruitment effort for nonexempt and temporary workers within process and procedure, work with supervisors to screen and interview candidates, conduct new-employee orientations and conduct exit interviews
• Perform, report and track payroll weekly utilizing Kronos and UltiPro/UKG
• Establish and maintain department records and reports
• Participate in administrative staff meetings and attend other meetings as necessary
• Recommend solutions to effect continuous improvements in efficiency of department and services
• Work with a sense of urgency, ensuring timelines are met and embodies the corporate vision and values
• Help ensure compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws
• Other duties, which may be clerical in nature, as directed

What you’ll need:

• Bachelors’ Degree Preferred
• 3+ years’ experience in Human Resources
• Human Resources experience in the industrial manufacturing sector; knowledge and experience with LEAN Manufacturing preferred
• Self-motivation – must be a team player with a “can do attitude”
• PHR designation highly desired
• Ability to exercise sound judgment
• Experience supporting an HR operation with non-exempt employees in a union and/or non-union environment with successful track record maintaining proactive programs for union avoidance and employee retention
• Experience with HRIS an ATS systems required – UKG is preferred
• Intermediate MS Office and database management skills are required
