Role Overview and Responsibilities: Summary: The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for assisting the HR Director by administering policies relating to all phases of human resources activity. This position carries out job duties in the following functional areas: primarily recruiting and retention, but could also include training, employee relations, performance management, onboarding and new hire orientation, employment law compliance and employee relations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Assisting in full-cycle recruiting process including screening candidates, phone interviews, conducting and coordinating in-person interviews, initiating assessments, drug screening, background checks, offer letters and onboarding.

  • Administers the site’s Performance Review and Objectives portal for all Direct and Indirect employees.
  • Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude towards company goals and increase employee engagement.
  • Maintains turnover reporting, KPIs, and other HR metric reporting
  • Administers a retention and talent program aimed at lowering employee turnover and improving succession planning/talent development
  • Creates, performs and/or coordinates any HR-related employee training.
  • Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures all policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
  • Responsible for auditing and editing the employee handbook and policies and procedures manual.
  • Responsible for all employee FMLA and ADA administration and compliance.
  • Facilitates annual performance evaluation process for all departments and ensures timely submission.
  • Formulate partnerships to work effectively with leadership, managers, and employees.
  • Monitors tardy and absenteeism reports and ensures proper documentation is issued and employee files are updated accordingly.
  • Serve as a liaison and consultant between management and employees by fielding and answering questions, administering policies, and resolving common work-related disputes or problems.
  • Maintains records of participation in benefit plans such as insurance and pension plan. Also retains personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations.
  • Conducts internal investigations and exit interviews when needed.
  • Administers benefits programs such as life, health, dental, and disability insurances.
  • Reconciles insurance bills and submits for payment.
  • Promote a professional, positive attitude towards the company and management.
  • Provide a respectful approach with interfacing with Team Members with complete confidentiality.

Education/Experience/Credentials: *Bachelor’s Degree from four-year College or university, or equivalent at least three to five year experience in Human Resources, preferably with experience in recruiting.*

  • Language Ability: Excellent communication both written and verbal. Ability to effectively and professionally present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, Team Members and the general public. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions. The Individual must possess strong skills in grammar and proofreading.
  • Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to collect data, solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to maintain a professional and positive image in any situation using good judgment.
  • Computer Skills: Ability to use office software, including Word processing, Spreadsheets, Databases, Slide Presentations, Internet browsers, E-mail, and business systems software.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities other than to guide the HR team when the Director of HR is not available.
