NTC’s leader team is provided with an exceptional paid leave package including two weeks of paid College closure (between Christmas – New Year’s & July 4th week), five (5) weeks of paid vacation, twelve (12) sick days, twelve (12) holidays, and life insurance at two times the annual salary.

Position Description

This position acts at a high level with confidential and sensitive information and processes for the College-wide Human Resources function including administrative support to the Vice President (VP), Human Resources and Risk Management, Human Resources Managers (HRMs). The HR Coordinator provides exceptional service and communication to all internal and external customers in areas such as HR operations/budget, compensation, benefits, recruitment, retention, and compliance, including handbooks, policies, procedures, and HR information/management systems. Provides supervision of HR hourly staff as assigned.

As a member of the Human Resources Management team, theHuman Resources Coordinator is an exempt salaried role, that will portray a broad institutional perspective that supports the College’s mission, vision, and goals while fostering and creating an environment that strives to anticipate and meet customer needs. As a member of the management team, this role will support a shared leadership culture through participation in and facilitation of teams.

Duties & Responsibilities

Develops and implements value-added services; studies and creates process improvements, streamline efficiencies, automate processes, conduct research, provide recommendations, document, and communicates new procedures.

Researches and creates policies, procedures, College-wide communication, handbooks, projects, and timelines, etc.

Ensure all human resources functions are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Provides administrative support to the VP and HRMs.

Stay current with HR technology including implementation, troubleshooting, improving functionality, and ensuring data is accurate in the system.

Conducts research and market analysis, data and report retrieval, and metrics.

Administration of compensation and benefits.

Lead the onboarding and orientation process.

Lead the full-cycle recruitment process, including employment verifications, credentialing, reference and background checks, and collaboration on hiring and termination discussions.

Serves and collaborates as part of the Human Resources Management Team.

Assist hiring managers/ELT members with their HR needs, ensures HR’s presence on cross-functional activities/committees, etc.

Provides management of the HR and related College budget process; collaborates with Finance staff on related research/reports/analysis, including related grants.

Works as a team to ensure there is office coverage during all hours of operation.

Required to be cross-trained in all areas of Human Resources including but not limited to HRIS, recruitment, benefits, compensation, administration, etc.

Stays current on in-depth knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Business, Human Resources, Management, etc.)
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in Human Resources required.
  • Professional Human Resources certification preferred.
  • Must be customer focused with strong written composition, verbal communication, well-developed presentation skills, and interpersonal skills to handle difficult situations and people in a discrete, highly confidential and professional manner as an advocate for the College.
  • Requires working knowledge of computer software, office procedures, organizational skills, time management, multi-tasking skills, initiative, critical thinking, creativity and resourcefulness to resolve problems independently and within teams.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) required.
  • Mathematical aptitude, ability to conduct independent research, analyze information and data, produce and present findings in appropriate media/format for target audience.
  • Experience/working knowledge of information systemsHuman Resources Information Systems (HRIS) including Workday, ADP, ImageNow/Preceptive Content (document imaging), applicant tracking, or similar systems, preferred.
  • Ability to adapt to change and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, and ability to work independently with strict timelines.
  • WI driver’s license required with the ability to pass NTC insurance carrier requirements.
