JOB SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for implementing human resources policies, procedures, and programs and day-to-day administration of HR processes in assigned facilities within Searles Valley Minerals. This position partners with management to provide advice and counsel to line managers and supervisors to ensure uniformity of HR Practices that are aligned with Company goals. This individual facilitates effective internal employee communications and participates in the development of compensation, training, and benefit programs to strategically impact the competitiveness of the company. This position will report to the Director -Human Resources located at the corporate office.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Deliver HR processes and services that meet quality standards and are established by best practices.
  • Deliver programs to internal customers that are consistent across the organization.
  • Responsible for human resource planning, talent selection and placement, talent assessment and development, succession planning, and employee relations.
  • Participates in compensation and benefits development.
  • Partner with management in developing strategies to recruit and fill open positions to identify critical talent and build organization capabilities.
  • Coordinate the recruitment process.
  • Support management in identifying present and future needs.
  • Anticipate, identify and facilitate resolution of employee relations issues to provide a more fully functional workforce.
  • Counsel management and employees concerning policies, procedures and legal considerations.
  • Work to minimize negative incidents through effective internal communications.
  • Provide a balance between employee advocacy and the employer’s position.
  • Consult with management on training and development needs to ensure successful delivery of employee development curriculums.
  • Develop strategies to identify targeted development needs within departments.
  • Identify opportunities to deliver training.
  • Provide coaching to management on leadership practices to achieve company goals and develop their workgroups.
  • Be responsible for adhering to SSHE policies, procedures and programs, regulations, and company directives, and actively participate in preventing unsafe acts.
  • Understand the primary SSHE hazards and risks in the work area and the safeguards in place to manage those hazards and risks.
  • Maintain an awareness of SSHE requirements for the specific work area.
  • Immediately report all SSHE issues to the supervisor.
  • Provide requested information during SSHE internal and external audits.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct supervision of up to two Human Resources professionals.
  • Coaches and influences management.
  • Trains and influences employees.
  • Heart of a teacher and ear of a councilor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor & Industrial Relations, Business or related field and five to eight years increasingly responsible Human Resources experience.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CA, PHR, SPHR desired.
  • Staff and line HR experience
  • Union/ Union avoidance experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of California and Federal employment law.
  • Competent in the use of office software such as Word or Excel.
  • Two years of experience with HRIS systems such as ADP, PeopleSoft, Lawson, or TotalHR.

Pay Range: $105K to $135k - DOE
